Newton Road School works with Chartwells (outside caterers) who supply our school with hot dinners and sandwiches.

All orders have to be placed online by midnight on Tuesday of the preceding week. If your child is eligible for free school meals or the Government Universal free school meals you still need to order a meal online.

Chartwells have introduced a system to enable parents/carers to pre-book and pay online in advance for their child’s school meals. Making a payment is straightforward and no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you have activated your account you can make online payments and book meals straight away. ParentPay is a free service for you to use. If you require a PayPoint card then please ask at the school office.

Free School Meals

From the 30th June 2016 all applications for Free School Meals have to been applied for online via the Northamptonshire Website.

Please click here to find out if your child is eligible, and to make an application for Free School Meals.

Universal Infant Free School Meals

From September 2014 all children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 will be entitled to receive a Free School Meal every day.

All children who are entitled to Free School Meals because of their family circumstances bring an additional £1,320 into the school budget to support their learning experiences at school. This money is known as Pupil Premium and enables the school to plan and support learning opportunities for these children.

If your child is entitled to Free School Meals anyway you still need to apply and register your entitlement otherwise the school will not receive this additional funding.

A child is entitled to Free School Meals if parents/carers are in receipt of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided they are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190 as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • During the initial roll out of the benefit, Universal Credit

If you are in receipt of any of the above please contact Northamptonshire County Council’s Free School Meals Team as above.
